Both JT and Yung Miami have recently spoken on collaborating and interacting with Nicki Minaj. At those times, the mega star offered silence–at least on social media. However, on Wednesday, The Morning Hustle released an interview with Nicki. While she spoke on several topics, one of host Lore’l’s question focused on The City Girls.
Lore’l asked Nicki, “would you do a record with The City Girls.” Nicki remained silent for a few seconds, prompting laughter from Lore’l and co-host Headkrack. Eventually Nicki responds “I don’t know.” Afterwards, Nicki said she saw a video of the female rap duo a few years ago and reached out to someone on their team at the time.
“I was thinking about jumping on…one of their records that was out at that time,” she said. “And then social media happened.”
Nicki explained that posting content on the internet means it will live there forever, that includes tweets and what’s said during interviews.
“As a human being, an artist is a human being first. So if I as just a regular human was about to do something with you, if I was about to go out to dinner with you tonight and then I get something that says, ‘Yo, she don’t really f*ck with you like that. She was saying this and she don’t really like you.’
Nicki said additional comments included hoping she “never pop or never flourish.”
“I’m not gonna go out to dinner with you anymore, because I know that I like you but you don’t really like me,” she continued.
“That’s just a human way to feel, if you hear somebody was saying things about you. Not just one thing, but repeated things, repeated tweets, for years,” she told the show hosts.
Lore’l interjected saying “it’s hard to let that go.” But, Nicki quickly responded that “it’s let go.”
“It’s let go but it’s about why would I work with somebody that doesn’t like me,” Nicki said.
Hours later, Minaj said she spoke to JT and Yung Miami and all is good.
“Just had a great convo with @ThegirlJT & @YungMiami305. Let’s move on & make new memories y’all,” she tweeted.
Both JT and Yung Miami responded to the tweet with love. Come through positive vibes.
