Nick Cannon has lived his life in the public eye since he was a teen and becoming an entrepreneur, successful businessman, actor and comedian are only a few of his greatest accomplishments. Cannon is also a father of eight, and despite pubic criticism of his choice to have children with five different women, he wears the title proudly.
Cannon has been very open about his views on monogamy and the traditional family structure and has dedicated time on his platforms to express the love that he has not only for his children, but their mothers as well. While speaking with Men’s Health Mag recently, Nick put to rest the idea that he can’t possibly be actively showing up for all of his children
Contrary to popular belief, I’m probably engaged throughout my children’s day, more often than the average adult can be.”
The ‘Wild ‘N Out’ host explained that part of his daily routine is creating space for all of his children, whether they are physically in his presence or not. He attributes his ability to do so to the flexibility of creating his own work schedule.
If I’m not physically in the same city with my kids, I’m talking to them before they go to school via FaceTime and stuff. And then when I am [in the same city I’m] driving my kids to school, like making sure I pick ’em up. All of those things, making sure [I’m there for] all extracurricular activities. I’m involved in everything from coaching to having guitar lessons with my daughter every week.”
Nick welcomed his first two children–Moroccan and Monroe–with Mariah Carey in 2011, his son and daughter–Golden Sagon and Powerful Queen–with Brittany Bell in 2017 and 2020, a second pair of twins–Zion and Zillion–with Abby De La Rosa in 2021, and most recently, his son Zen S. Cannon with Alyssa Scott. In January, Cannon announced that he has an eighth child on the way with Bre Tiesi.
