TSR Health: Today U.S. Congress heard the pleas from public health officials about preventing the spread of the coronavirus.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, let the men and women of Congress know that the worst is yet to come.
“I can say we will see more cases and things will get worse than they are right now,” Fauci said, while speaking to the challenges of containing the virus.
Fauci continued, “How much worse we’ll get will depend on our ability to do two things: To contain the influx of people who are infected coming from the outside and the ability to contain and mitigate within our own country. Bottom line, it’s going to get worse.”
In turn,, health officials were challenged by one of the congressmen to step up to Donald Trump and other executive officials when they misinform the country about the coronavirus’ severity.
The U.S. has officially surpassed 1,000 confirmed cases as the World Health Organization officially declared the outbreak a pandemic on Wednesday.
Roommates, what practices are you using to stay safe amid the outbreak? Let us know.
