When it comes to reboots, there are a slew of them. As we continue to take a trip down the 90’s, please believe that New York Undercover is reportedly added to the list of shows we’ll see on our small screens again.
According to Deadline, NBC’s platform Peacock will stream New York Undercover, the popular 90’s series.
“It’s still Hip Hop but New York City has changed. Picking up 20 years after the end of the iconic series that changed the face of TV cop dramas, New York Undercover will follow detectives Nat Gilmore and Melissa Ortiz as they investigate the city’s most dangerous criminals from Harlem to Battery Park.”
Revived by Dick Wolf and Aryanna Floyd Davis, a former showrunner for The Chi and co-executive producer on Empire, Malik Yoba and Lauren Velez are said to return.
As you know, New York Undercover was a fave in the 90’s and aired on Fox. It debuted in 1994 and ran for 5 seasons.
Before this announcement, there were talks about a reboot for New York Undercover in 2019 but it fell through. Looks like we’ll get this nostalgia after all. Let’s hope they’ll still have musical guests performing in the cafe, like they did before.
