Here we go Roommate’s get ready for a full blown legal battle!
Remember when we reported a few days ago that Weezy would be suing Baby for $8 million? We all thought that amount was embarrassing pocket change for the Young Money rapper and his contributions to Cash Money, well we were right!
According to TMZ, Wayne is actually suing for $51 million! Not only is he asking for the cash money, he wants a multi-million dollar advance and part ownership of all Young Money recordings as well as split copyright ownership of all Young Money recordings, including Drake’s and Nicki Minaj’s catalogs.
Reportedly, the lawsuit states that the $8 million initially stated came from Baby promising Wayne that money when he started making “Tha Carter V” back in 2013. He was also promised an additional $2 million once he completed the project. We are guessing all of which Wayne never received, seeing how Baby’s business track record is.
Sources say that Universal Records is pressuring Cash Money to pay the initial money owed to Lil Wayne, which may be a smart move on Baby’s end. If Birdman coughs up the initial $10 million owed, Lil Wayne will be forced to stay in his contract and will have no base for a lawsuit since the breach of contract only comes because of the money. The release of Wayne’s album is still kept upon the discretion of whenever Baby wants to release it. Also the additional money that would make up the $51 million is a pillow for the predicted future losses Wayne may take for leaving Cash Money and isn’t guaranteed to him.
If Baby still wants to own Lil Wayne after this then he is just straight up petty!! We can only hope everyone leaves this situation in one piece!
