Clearly, we’re not the only ones still missing and admiring former First Lady Michelle Obama’s presence in the White House. A new poll has revealed that Lady O is officially the most admired woman in the world, which is definitely not hard to believe.
Michelle has always shown an impressive amount of grace, strength and class during and after her time as FLOTUS—and apparently Americans aren’t the only people who feel this way. According to @cbsnews, a new YouGov poll revealed that Michelle is greatly beloved around the world and she knocked previous title-holder, actress/activist Angelina Jolie, from the top spot.
Michelle is in great company with other notably powerful women on the list, including Oprah Winfrey, the previously mentioned Angelina Jolie, Queen Elizabeth II and Emma Watson. The YouGov poll was compiled by gathering open-ended nominations from people in 41 countries, to finally narrow down the results to the top 20 women and top 20 men.
The results also show that worldwide people just generally love the Obamas, as Michelle’s husband, former POTUS Barack Obama, came in at number two on the list for men, just behind billionaire Bill Gates.
Similarly, the Obamas top the YouGov U.S. list of most admired people in America. Additionally, Barack Obama took the title of Gallup’s most admired man again last year for the 11th year straight, while Michelle snagged the title for the first time in 17 years from Hilary Clinton.
It’s safe to say people miss the Obamas more than ever…and we all know why.
Roommates, what are your thoughts on Michelle Obama’s most admired status?
