A New Jersey Transit train crashed at Hoboken during the rush hour commutes on Thursday morning leaving at least one person dead and many others seriously injured.
Photos posted to social media shows how serious the damage from this crash is, with parts of the roof collapsed on top of the train.
According to CNN, Leon Offengendne, a passenger on the train was located in one of the sections behind the lead car and talked about what happened during the crash. He said, “The front car is essentially off the rails … into the building of the station, with the roof sort of collapsed around it. The lights went out and a few people screamed.”
Emergency responders have been called to the scene to assist with the aftermath, which also includes an urban search and rescue team, that is helping to remove all passengers from the train.
Train service has been suspended in and out of the area. This has caused people to call out of work as they try to find their way back home, which has to be through bus service, as this is the only means of public transportation at the time.
We are keeping everyone effected by the crash in our prayers.
