Last week, fans began frantically tweeting #NeneLeakes after hearing that she was not asked to return to #RHOA for season 9. She insisted that there were no hard feelings and even revealed that Shereé Whitfield and Kim Zolciak Biermann were returning. However, in a pleasant twist, Leakes recently visited the Steve Harvey show where she spilled he tea on what exactly is going on with her relationship with RHOA at the moment.
When Steve asked if it was true that she would not be returning to the Real Housewives of Atlanta, she said, “That is not a true rumor. I will tell you what the real deal is. They are shooting season 9 currently and it just so happened for whatever reason they started shooting and didn’t call me up?! I feel like Kelly Ripa honey, ’cause I’ve been there since day one. So y’all are shooting and not even calling your girl up to come and shoot?” The shade!
Now, of course, many were confused by Leakes’s absence from the upcoming season of #RHOA considering she is practically the face of the brand and is the only original left standing. According to Nene, though, she is now in communication with Bravo to make a few appearances. “They did reach out to me though and we are talking, so I will possibly make some appearances in season 9. I don’t think I’ll ever be done with housewives. I feel very connected to the show,” she told Steve Harvey.
The reality turned Broadway star went on to explain that she just had to take some time to leverage her position on RHOA and explore other ways to secure that coin. We don’t blame you girl!
