It may be New Year’s Eve but Nene Leakes still seems to have an old issue, as it relates to Black women being supported.
The former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star took to Twitter and told people to be smart and to not support countdown shows that don’t support Black women.
She tweeted, “Be Smart and DO NOT SUPPORT count down shows TONIGHT that aren’t supporting or respecting BLACK WOMEN creativity/equality and blacklisting us from working if we speak the truth abt their wrong doings.”
Nene continued, “Don’t believe me, believe your eyes.”
The RHOA vet also stated that she’s planning a 2021 women’s march “outside of the racist studios.”
Earlier this month, Nene stated she was boycotting Bravo.
She tweeted, ”Y’all ready to start this boycott yet? What has happened behind the scenes is WRONG! While others were being promoted, BLACK WOMEN who created shows, created genres, built franchises, and built networks were being DEMOTED…TURN OFF YOUR TV’S.”
Just a few days before Christmas, she went live with civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump and further detailed the treatment she received as a housewife and the discrimination she received. She said she never thought this would happen or that she would be in this situation.
She detailed how she was the biggest star on the franchise and how other housewives received promotions instead of her. Nene mentioned that many people were afraid to speak out, but she continued anyway. She received a lot of support in the comments during her live, thanking her for being brave.
As you know, Nene Leakes announced her departure from RHOA season 13, “I have been on an extremely, extremely long, exhausting, tiring, emotional negotiation. There has been a lot of emotion flying from both sides. It has been hard. And I have made the tough and difficult decision to not be a part of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Season 13. It wasn’t an easy decision for me. It was hard.”
