This Is What Devon Werkheiser Wrote To Drake Bell
On Tuesday, March 19, Werkheiser took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share a statement. The 33-year-old explained that he was being an “idiot” for speaking about the ‘Quiet On Set’ documentary without having watched it. As The Shade Room previously reported, ‘Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV’ aired earlier this week. The four-part docuseries explored the “toxic” work culture of popular children’s shows between the 90s and 2000s.
During the series, Drake Bell revealed that he was repeatedly sexually assaulted by a Nickelodeon dialogue coach at 15.
“I was being an idiot today,” Werkheiser wrote. “No way around it. I feel horrible that my dumb*** was speaking about it without seeing it.”
From there, the actor explained that he watched the series and was “heartbroken.”
“I watched Quiet On Set tonight tonight and am horrified by the gravity of what Drake and others shared,” he continued. “Truly heartbroken about what my fellow actors went through. I can’t believe they weren’t protected. I’m sorry for compounding any hurt.”
Additionally, Werkheiser shared a caption alongside his statement:
“So sorry to Drake. Gutted I hurt you.”
