Today, boxing legend, Muhammad Ali is being laid to rest in his hometown of Louisville, KY where fans lined up for 19 miles to pay their respects and to honor his legacy.
His pallbearers included a mix of family and friends as well as fellow boxer Mike Tyson and actor Will Smith who portrayed Ali in the 2001 biopic. They all loaded Ali’s casket into a hearse this morning followed by a 17-car processional which took him on one last ride through the town which made him who he was.
The 19 mile route traveled to different landmarks in Ali’s life including the gym where he first began boxing training and the Muhammad Ali center. The funeral will begin at 2pm EST. Well keep you posted on some of the highlights from today’s home going service.
