Mother of Original All That Cast Member Speaks Out: “I Failed Angelique” And Also Blasts Nickelodeon Producers!!

Roommates, remember when we exclusively reported on actress, #AngeliqueBates’ allegations of abuse at the hands of her mother while she was on the cast of the hit 90’s show ‘All That?’ She confessed to suffering from physical, mental and emotional abuse while she was working on the kids show. Well, now, her mother D. Bates has come forward in support of her daughter even though she doesn’t come out saying she was the one who actually abused Angelique.

In a statement she exclusively sent us,  D. Bates talks about failing Angelique since she was abused on “her watch”

She writes:
“To Whom It May Concern:

Angelique has made me proud to be able to say, in a world where it is rare, that I know someone who is willing to stand up for what they believe. I only wish I had even half of her strength.

The viewers were unwittingly and unknowingly my witnesses and Angelique’s witnesses to Nickelodeon’s and the Producers of All That’s own ‘unlawful’ punishment/ psychological abuse of Angelique, a minor, which appears to have been retaliation on the part of Nickelodeon and the Producers of All That for a conversation in which I was involved with the California Child Labor Department. It was a conversation in which I was informed that Nickelodeon was in violation of the California Child Labor Laws. That retaliation/ punishment/ abuse which was witnessed by millions was called the ‘entire’ second season of All That.

If Nickelodeon and the Producers of All That truly believed that Angelique was being abused on their project, as far back as the first season of All That, as they appear to have drilled into that minor’s head, they never even in their efforts to harass and intimidate me, reported it. Ultimately, it did not matter whether they believed it or not, they apparently had a complaint of abuse. They were bound by the law to report it. Yet, once again in violation of yet another law designed to ‘protect’ a child, they did not.

Nickelodeon and the Producers of ‘All That’ only contacted CPS after the Police became involved. It was a move that I, now, believe in light of information that has recently come to my attention, was only made on the part of Nickelodeon and the Producers of ‘All That’ in an attempt to cover their own butts.

Where I had always believed that anyone attempting to harm my kid had to come through me to get to her, because I was not ‘for sale’ and my daughter was not ‘for sale’, I believed the success of any such attempt was impossible. Angelique was just a kid, a minor, in a sea of adults who were skilled at what they knew how to do. We never stood a chance in ‘Hell’.

Ultimately, I failed Angelique. My kid got hurt on my watch. I cannot help but wonder what other minors Nickelodeon and the Producers of All That may have harmed before during and after Angelique. But, then there is always the internet.
