Dang, just when we thought things started looking up for Bobby Shmurda, he gets hit with another blow! Remember when we reported yesterday that the pharmaceutical snob, Martin Shkreli, was planning on bailing Shmurda out of jail!? Well it looks like instead of being his ‘Good Samaritan,” Shkreli might just end up being the rapper’s cellmate!
Early this morning the well-known entrepreneur and pharmacist was arrested from his Manhattan home and is currently being charged with illegally taking stock from Retrophin Inc., a biotechnology firm he started in 2011 after being accused of using it to pay off debts from unrelated business dealings.
If you remember, Shkreli became probably the most hated after he raised the prices for Daraprim ( a drug normally used to treat HIV patients and newborns) by 5000 percent, which if you do your math what once was $13.50 a pill has now been raised to $750 a pill!
Retrophin reportedly filed a lawsuit back in August claiming that Shkreli illegally used more than $65 million to pay off investors that he owed. He was allegedly replaced as CEO in 2014“because of serious concerns about his conduct.”
“Shkreli was the paradigm faithless servant,” Retrophin’s complaint, filed in Manhattan, said according to the NY Times. “Starting sometime in early 2012, and continuing until he left the company, Shkreli used his control over Retrophin to enrich himself and to pay off claims of MSMB investors (who he had defrauded).”
Shkreli of course has denied the charges that have been placed against him before and says that $65 million is only pocket shmoney, “The $65 million Retrophin wants from me would not dent me,” he said of the suit. “I feel great. I’m licking my chops over the suits I’m going to file against them.”
Shkreli’s lawyer,Evan Greebel, was also arrested even though the twisted pharmacist previously said that his lawyer knew nothing about his Retrophin transactions. Brooklyn U.S. Attorney Robert Capers will discuss the case during a press conference later on today. Looks like Christmas came early this year…oop we meant Karma! Lets chat below!!
