After not speaking for 13 years, Lee Daniels and Monique made up on stage in Staten Island on Friday!
Yes #Roommates you read that right! The pair took the stage and Lee Daniels took the time to publicly apologize to Mo’Nique.
But the good news doesn’t end there! According to Deadline, Mo’Nique and Lee Daniels not only ended their ‘Precious‘ feud, but they will work together on the Netflix thriller ‘Demon House.’
Mo’Nique last worked with Lee in the 2009 film ‘Precious,’ where she earned the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. She is set to replace Octavia Spencer in the role of a social worker who helps a family through a series of exorcisms. After Octavia had to drop out due to a schedule conflict.
You may remember back in 2019, when Mo’Nique alleged Oprah and Lee Daniels were the reason she was blackballed from the industry. Mo’Nique claimed it was due to her lack of participation in award-season promotion for the film, something Mo says wasn’t in her contract. Lee Daniels, Oprah, and Tyler Perry have always denied blackballing her, but it’s worth mentioning that we haven’t seen Mo’Nique star in any major TV or Film projects since. Mo has also stated that Tyler Perry didn’t support her publicly, even though she alleged that he told her in private she wasn’t in the wrong.
‘Demon House’ follows multiple exorcisms that plagued Latoya Ammons and her three children in Gary, Indiana around 2011. Mo’Nique is set to join stars Andra Day, Glenn Close, Rob Morgan, Caleb McLaughlin, and Aunjanue Ellis. Roommates are you looking forward to watching the Netflix thriller?
