Monica has announced she’s joining Nicki Minaj on her upcoming Pink Friday 2 Tour.
The singer, who is also featured on the ‘ Pink Friday 2’ album, shared the exciting news during her appearance on ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show.’
Monica Is Going On Tour With Nicki Minaj
In the episode, which aired on Thursday (February 8), Monica revealed that she’ll be heading on the road with the ‘Big Foot’ rapper for the entire North American leg of the tour.
“I get a chance to hit all these cities that mean so much to me. Atlanta, of course, New Orleans, [and] Nashville. We’re coming to every city that we possibly can,” she told Hudson. “I’m really grateful for Nicki because she’s one of those people that always said, ‘Monica meant everything to my childhood.'”
She also expressed gratitude towards Minaj for remembering and valuing her contributions to the music industry over the years.
“Some people, they act like they forget. So it’s pretty cool not to be forgotten and be called for things like that. So, we’re going to show up and show out,” she continued.
The tour starts on March 1 in Oakland, California, and ends on May 13 in Oklahoma.
It’s no secret that Minaj has been a longtime fan of Monica’s music.
But not many people apparently knew how their love for one another’s artistry had since transformed into a close friendship between the two.
Minaj had previously touched on her bond with Monica – as well as Keyshia Cole – during an IG Live session as she promoted their song ‘Love Me Enough’ together.
On the track, Minaj uses her lyrical prowess to preach about self-worth, asserting that we should all love ourselves enough not to settle for less than we deserve.

Monica Opens Up About Her Friendship With Nicki
When asked about her closeness to Minaj and how the collaboration came about, Monica started by highlighting the ongoing love she’s received from the New Yorker.
“I think our friendship is the catalyst, and just being there to let her know that I support her the way she always has [for] me and my career is a good thing,” she told Billboard at the Grammys on Sunday (February 4). “It just was fun. I’m glad that she used myself and Keyshia [Cole], another person that’s dear to my heart and really stands for the same things that I do.”
