Monica Officially Removes Brown From Her Instagram User Name

Monica has been privately been going through a divorce from her estranged husband Shannon Brown.

Recently, followers were able to notice that Monica has officially removed Brown from her Instagram user name. She removed the name she had taken on through marriage and replaced it with her middle name Denise. However, it is worth mentioning at this time, Brown is still in her user name on Twitter.

News about Monica and Shannon Brown’s split first broke back in March, when it was reported that she had filed for divorce from the former NBA star. Since the news of their split, she hasn’t really addressed the split publicly.

In August, while doing an interview with Sway on “Sway in the Morning,” Monica briefly spoke about how the divorce has affected her children. During that interview, she acknowledged that she was single and going through a divorce. When asked if she had received any complicated questions from her children she did say that her son did ask if she could stop the divorce.

At the time she said, “Unfortunately, people love sharing stuff that shouldn’t be shared. So he read that I filed it. I had a great conversation with them prior, but I didn’t go into that part of it, and he asked me ‘well can you stop it?’”

Nonetheless, Monica and Shannon have both displayed a great example of co-parenting, as they share their 6-year-old daughter Laiyah Brown.

Back in June, Monica penned a touching Father’s Day message to Shannon and said, “Happy Fathers Day @__shannon__brown__ from the second Laiyah was born you wanted to give her everything & make sure Rock & Melo wanted for nothing! You have treated them all as a part of you. That’s an attribute to be appreciated & respected forever???? There’s no Love like a Father’s Love.”
