We are days away from Halloween, and many people are still trying to figure out what costumes to choose for the holiday. However, Missy Elliott decided to throw it back and go as herself for this year. The thing is she looks like she hasn’t aged a bit over the years.
On Monday, she shared a photo of herself recreating her classic album cover for her debut album “Supa Dupa Fly.” She said, “WOW???????? This Halloween I decided to RECREATE my 1st album cover from 22 YEARS AGO one of these pictures I took ONLY 3 DAYS AGO the other was 22 YEARS AGO CAN YALL TELL THE DIFFERENCE??”
The 1997 album consisted of hit singles such as the leading track “The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly),” “Sock It To Me,” “Beep Me 911,” and many others.
Back in August, Missy received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the 2019 Video Music Awards (VMA’s) for all of the iconic work she has done throughout the years.
Prior to her VMA moment, she was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, making her the first female rapper to be inducted. Back in June during the induction ceremony, she said, “Every time I come up to a podium … even with all the work that I’ve done, I don’t know, and I’m assuming it’s just God, I don’t know why I am here. I want to say one thing to the writers, to the upcoming writers, ‘Do not give up.’ We all go through writer’s block. Sometimes you just have to walk away from a record and come back to it. But don’t give up because I’m standing here. And this is big for hip-hop, too.”
Check out Missy’s before and after picture and tell us if you can spot the difference:
