A Minnesota father confessed to killing an elderly sex offender who had stalked his toddler daughter, and claims he “finished him off” with a moose antler.
On March 8, 27-year-old Levi Axtell walked into a local police station, covered in blood and with a story to tell. He told officers that he beat 77-year-old Lawrence V. Scully to death with a shovel, according to court documents obtained by Fox News.

Axtell went on to say that he “finished” the job with the moose antler.
He then reportedly placed his hands on his head and demanded the officers handcuff him, while threatening to hurt others if he wasn’t restrained.
The Cook County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that they found Scully dead inside his home, located roughly two hours north of Duluth.
A witness reportedly called 911 after seeing someone “smash” a vehicle in Scully’s driveway before running into the man’s home where the witness says they then heard screaming.

Scully had been convicted in 1979 of molesting a 6-year-old girl, the outlet reports.
Axtell and Scully allegedly had a long history of issues between them.
In 2018, Axtell accused Scully of “stalking” and “attempting to groom” his then-toddler daughter, and even tried to obtain an order of protection against him after reportedly parking his van at her daycare facility, according to WTIP.

Axtell’s request for a restraining order was actually granted at first, but was dismissed weeks later without explanation.
Two years later, Axtell posted “Only cure for pedophiles? A bullet” on Facebook, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
He was arraigned on Friday on second-degree murder and is currently being held on a $1 million bond.
