Michelle Obama Named America’s “Most Admired Woman” Once Again

#Roommates, our forever First Lady Michelle Obama continues to do big things since leaving the White House, including writing her New York Times best-selling memoir, cultivating and producing projects with Netflix, touring around the country as a motivational speaker and being an incredible example of a loving wife and mother.

Well, apparently most Americans feel the same love for Michelle that we do because for the second straight year, she’s officially been named the “Most Admired Woman” in America, earning 10% of the vote. Rounding out the list is Melania Trump, Oprah Winfrey, Hillary Clinton and climate activist Greta Thunberg.

Hillary Clinton holds the record for being named the “Most Admired Woman”—she held the title for a record-breaking 15 years, from 2002 to 2017.

Most of Michelle predecessors for the title have also been former first ladies, but throughout the years the “Most Admired Woman” list has been a bit more diverse than the men’s. Australian nurse Sister Elizabeth Kenny, Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir, Ethel Kennedy, Mother Teresa, and Margaret Thatcher have also topped the list.

This is the same list that crowned Michelle’s husband, our forever President Barack Obama, as America’s “Most Admired Man” earlier this week. Although we don’t know how or why it happened, but Barack shares his 2019 title with Donald Trump, who was also named the country’s most admired man this year.

Michelle’s latest honor is no surprise to us, as she is definitely one of our favorites and the true definition of #BlackGirlMagic. Congrats Michelle!

Roommates, what are your thoughts on this?
