Michelle and Barack Obama have officially revealed whether they are endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris for the Democratic nomination in the 2024 presidential election.
On Friday, July 26, the Obamas took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share a video with their followers. In the caption of his post, Barack explained that he and Michelle recently spoke to the VP.
“Earlier this week, Michelle and I called our friend @KamalaHarris. We told her we think she’ll make a fantastic President of the United States, and that she has our full support,” he revealed. “At this critical moment for our country, we’re going to do everything we can to make sure she wins in November. We hope you’ll join us.”
Additionally, Michelle shared her own post and caption.
“I’m so proud of my girl, Kamala. Barack and I are so excited to endorse her as the Democratic nominee because of her positivity, sense of humor, and ability to bring light and hope to people all across the country. We’ve got your back, @KamalaHarris!” she wrote.
In response, Harris shared a few words for the couple:

Social media users reacted to the Obamas’ endorsement message for Harris in The Shade Room’s comment section.
As The Shade Room previously reported, President Joe Biden withdrew his re-election bid from the 2024 presidential race on July 21. Since then, President Biden has given his endorsement to his vice president, Harris.
Additionally, multiple celebrities such as Tina Knowles, Niecy Nash, and even Beyoncé have also given their nod of approval for seeing Harris take over the White House.
Despite this, VP Harris still faces the challenge of confronting the Republican nominee, Donald Trump, for the presidential seat. Most recently, the former president’s campaign filed a complaint with the FEC, striving to prevent $91.5 million of funds from being transferred from Biden’s campaign to Harris’. Furthermore, Harris has even accused Trump of trying to duck her smoke in their upcoming presidential debate.
