Eva Marcille filed divorce documents citing her marriage as “irretrievably broken,” but Michael Sterling isn’t ready to give up. In a statement to The Jasmine Brand, he revealed his intentions to fight for his marriage.
“I am not going to lose my wife. I am going to fight for her with every fiber in my being. I love her, and I plan to show her how much I love her and that our love is strong enough to get to the other side,” Sterling reportedly said.
On Tuesday (March 28), The Shade Room obtained Marcille’s petition for divorce, which she filed on March 23 in Fulton County, Atlanta. Eva stated in the docs that there was no possibility for reconciliation in the five-year marriage.
In February, Sterling shared a Valentine’s Post saying he’s “so in love” with Eva.
Marcille also dedicated a post to her estranged husband, wishing him a happy love day “forever and ever.”
It’s unclear what led to the filing. Sterling’s statement didn’t offer additional insight. They got engaged in December 2017 and tied the knot less than a year later, in October 2018.
The estranged couple shares two children, Michael Todd Sterling Jr. and Maverick. Their recent care was detailed in the filing. The children have lived with Eva and Michael in their Alpharetta home for the last five years. Eva’s seeking legal and primary physical custody, including the final decision-making authority over all issues. Additionally, she wants primary custody to be permanently granted.
She stated she’s a “fit and proper person” to have primary custody. However, she also requested temporary and permanent child support–as deemed appropriate by Georgia law.
Eva also has a daughter with Kevin McCall, but she revealed in 2019 that she changed the child’s last name to Sterling’s. Less than 24 hours ago, he shared a photo of the three children on his Instagram.
Eva has not responded to Michael’s statement.
