As many of you know, we are in the season of giving back and helping to pay it forward to others. Many celebrities are heading into their communities to lend a helping hand to help others have a great Thanksgiving. Especially as we all continue to face the current pandemic. Michael Jordan is the latest celebrity to contribute a huge donation as a way to help out other families. Feeding America announced that the basketball legend has made a $2 million donation to their organization, which will help benefit food banks.
MJ said, in a statement, “In these challenging times and in a year of unimaginable difficulty due to COVID-19, it’s more important than ever to pause and give thanks. I am proud to be donating additional proceeds from ‘The Last Dance’ to Feeding America and its member food banks in the Carolinas in Chicago to help feed America’s hungry.”
As many of you know, “The Last Dance,” is the 10-part miniseries that premiered on ESPN earlier this year and covered Michael Jordan and his final season with the Chicago Bulls. The documentary features in-depth interviews from Jordan, his former teammates, coaches, and Bulls staff members as they speak about that pivotal time in Jordan’s career and Chicago Bulls history.
As we previously reported, Tyler Perry was another celebrity that gave back to the community in a major way. This past weekend he held a Food Giveaway at his studios in Atlanta as he worked to help feed at least 5,000 families.
