Roommates, we have seen so many big names show support for receiving the COVID vaccination since its approval. We also recently reported that the CDC announced new guidelines for those who have received the COVID-19 vaccine, and it looks like the Miami Heat is offering new perks for those fans as well.
According to ESPN, the Heat announced plans to open two sections for fully vaccinated fans in its arena starting April 1st. Masks will reportedly still be required for all fans, but social distancing rules will be “slightly relaxed in those areas.”
“You’re already getting a sense that things are starting to change and go in a much more positive direction,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. “Just the environment in our building, Ib remember those first couple games we had at the beginning of the year when there was literally nobody here, that was a eerie experience.”
ESPN reports that the two sections will be devoted to full vaccinated fans only, and groups of fans will be separated by one seat. Fans will reportedly enter the arena through a separate gate and will be required to show their vaccination card and ID. Fans will also have to be fully vaccinated for at least 14 days to enter.
“Things are moving,” Spoelstra said. “All of us cant wait until we get our building full again, and the same thing for other arenas.”
ESPN also notes that various other teams are in talks to implement the new sections.
How do y’all feel about this, Roomies? Would you sit in a “vaccinated-only” section? Let us know in the comments!
