Roommates, Megan Thee Stallion is entering 2021 with a lot of positive energy—in addition to her new romance and landing the March cover of ‘Harper’s Bazaar,’ she also got some love from an unexpected source. Megan Thee Stallion and Maxine Waters recently had a heart-to-heart chat about supporting Black women and Meg got a lot of praise from Auntie Maxine.
As part of her cover feature with ‘Harper’s Bazaar,’ Megan Thee Stallion also got the opportunity to have a virtual chat with Rep. Maxine Waters about the importance of protecting Black women. While Megan continued to tell Maxine how much she appreciates her support, Maxine added some encouraging words of her own and stated she respected Meg’s “audacity.”
Posting the clip to her Instagram page, she captioned it writing the following:
“Sooo sooo happy and honored I got to sit and talk with @repmaxinewaters 💙💙💙💙💙 This made my entire year ! She’s so inspiring and uplifting! She reminded me to keep being me no matter what !”
As we previously reported, in the same ‘Harper’s Bazaar’ feature, Megan discussed her career an upcoming college graduation. Speaking about her rise to stardom and the consistent competition placed on female rappers, Megan The Stallion had this to say in her interview with the magazine: “I feel like when it’s all said and done, when people want to talk about female rap…they are definitely going to have to put my name up there with the OGs.”
She continued, adding:
“Even though I’m not working a traditional job, I still treat it like: ‘This is work. I need to work hard for this. I want to be here. I want to do this. I want to be Megan Thee Stallion.’”
Moving on to her graduation this spring, Megan elaborated on just how excited she is to finally reach the milestone:
“I cannot wait. I’m going to have the biggest graduation party. You fought through the procrastination. You fought through crazy professors. You made it home the next day from the party and still went to class. You know what I’m saying?”
Meanwhile, she just confirmed her new romance with Pardison Fontaine.
