Megan Thee Stallion is speaking on how, after steppin’ back and taking a serious social media break, she’s found her way back to being “in love with” herself.
The “NDA” rapper shared her commentary during a sit-down with Entertainment Tonight, noting that her phone is entirely devoid of social media apps!
“I don’t have any apps on my phone. I don’t have any social media on my phone.”
As a result, Megan initially had no idea about the speculation surrounding her run-in with Justin Timberlake at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards—which was innocuous and led to a later link-up but initially reported as an altercation.
“Like, the whole [Justin Timberlake] thing, I didn’t even know that had happened.”
On top of willingly being out of the social loop, Megan Thee Stallion noted that she’s making music free from other artists’ influences.
“I don’t have any inspiration from anybody out right now. … I have no clue what anybody’s doing. So the music that I’ve been making, it feels good to me.”
As far as when the Hotties can expect new music, Megan kept her answer cryptic.
“Just be expecting it. Everybody knows Spooky Season is my favorite season, so just be on point.”
Continuing, Megan acknowledged that she grew more “comfortable” by stepping back and doing her own thang.
“I had to take a step back [and] reevaluate myself. I had to get in a comfortable position with myself. And now, I genuinely can say I’m in love with Megan.”
She added that she’s in a “fresh space” while embarking on this “new chapter.”
“I feel like I’m in such a fresh space. Like, everything about me is new — my attitude, my vibe. I feel like I’m starting a new chapter in my life. … I’m just so comfortable with myself.”
This isn’t the first time that Megan acknowledged the work she’s putting in to prioritize her well-being.
As The Shade Room reported, the Houston-bred artist previously opened up about the matter during a June 2023 sit-down with PEOPLE.
Megan addressed finding a “balance” between embracing “hustle culture” and practicing self-care.
“Sometimes society places too much emphasis on hustle culture and not enough focus on physical and mental health. It’s a balance.”
She added, “I’m making certain adjustments to my routine, and I want to let my Hotties know that it’s acceptable to reset and recharge when necessary.”
