According to Billboard, the Houston Hottie is currently in the process of trademarking her ‘hot girl summer’ phrase! Megan first introduced us to the phrase during the release of her #Fever mixtape, and its safe to say it has set the tone for the summer.
“Being a Hot Girl is about being unapologetically YOU, having fun, being confident, living your truth, being the life of the party, etc,” Megan says in a tweet.
On multiple occasions, Megan gives us the run down on what it means to be a hot girl. She encourages women and men to be the best version of themselves and live their best life! There is no cookie-cutter definition of a hot girl or a hot boy.
Billboard says Megan filed the trademark on July 10, the same day Meg confirmed on Twitter she was in the process of making it happen.
As the phrase has been going viral, large brands like Wendy’s, Forever 21, and Maybelline are all using the phrase in their marketing. If approved, Meg’s trademark will cover specific merchandise such as hoodies, t-shirts, and sportswear.
Meg’s phrase has encouraged celebrities and fans to step out of their comfort zones this summer! We’ve seen some of our favorite celebs become Hot Girls recently including Wendy Williams and Lala Anthony!
