Megan Thee Stallion is focused on the bag over the beef! At least, that’s the energy Houston Hottie gave when she appeared on ‘Good Morning America’ on Tuesday morning (Jan. 30).
Days after releasing ‘Hiss’ and setting the innanet (and Nicki Minaj) OFF, the rapper revealed two special surprises for fans. The Hotties will have a chance to see Meg in action this summer as Thee Stallion is planning her tour and album release.
“2024 so far is already lit, like I’m already working my butt off,” Megan shared. “Like I’m tryna keep the Hotties happy, they’re fussing at me right now. They’re like, ‘Where’s the music?'”
She didn’t give a release date for the new album but clarified that it’ll be here in time for a summer tour! Meg hopes to give the Hotties the “Megan Thee Stallion experience.”
Elsewhere in the sit-down, Megan highlighted her feature on the ‘Mean Girls’ musical soundtrack. She revealed that the original 2004 film was a favorite of hers, particularly the character Regina George.
Megan Explains Why Getting Back Into Music Was “Really Rough”
In the GMA interview, Meg explained that returning to music after Tory Lanez’s shooting incident and trial wasn’t easy. As previously reported, a jury convicted Lanez in Dec. 2022 and sentenced to 10 years in prison in Aug. 2023.
“It was really rough because for the past couple years, music just seemed so negative to me. I just wasn’t in a good place mentally after everything that had happened to me and it just all felt like, ‘I’m tired of this, I’m tired of fighting. But I had to tell myself, ‘I don’t want to give up.’ I love alot of things, but music is the one thing I’ve always really, super tried at.”
Thee Stallion also shared that her late mother knew music was her calling. For those two reasons, she’s chosen not to give up. She says the music, such as her ‘Cobra’ track, has been like “therapy,” while the gym has felt like her “safe space.”

Megan Thee Stallion & Nicki Minaj Made Headlines This Past Weekend
It’s unclear if ‘Good Morning America’ pre-recorded the interview, given that the rapper didn’t offer insight into her ‘Hiss’ track or its alleged targeted disses. However, as mentioned, it follows a nearly 72-hour-long online response from Minaj, who seemingly took offense to a lyric in the track.
The lyric referenced Megan’s Law, which requires authorities to inform the public about sex offenders. Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, was impacted by this law in 2020 when he failed to register in California for a 1995 attempted rape conviction in New York.
As previously reported, the father of the child who inspired Megan’s Law recently reacted to Thee Stallion’s reference to the law in an explicit track.
Meanwhile, Nicki’s callouts culminated with a response track titled ‘Big Foot,’ which accused Thee Stallion of “lying on her dead momma” and having multiple sexual relationships with industry peers.
Megan has yet to respond publicly to Nicki’s song. Instead, the Houston Hottie has continued to release visuals behind ‘Hiss’ leading up to her ‘Good Morning America’ interview release.
