Meek Mill has been having some rough days recently, Roomies. Just last week he was caught in the middle of some interesting events with Tekashi 69 and Wack 100, and he found himself in the hot seat after mentioning Kobe Bryant’s name on a new track with Lil Baby.
While it seemed like Meek was catching enough heat from people on social media, Vanessa Bryant had some words for him about her husband as well.
Vanessa took to her Instagram story, letting Meek know that his lyrics in the song were “insensitive and disrespectful”.
“Dear @meekmill, I find this line to be extremely insensitive and disrespectful. Period. I am not familiar with any of your music, but I believe you can do better than this. If you are a fan, fine, there’s a better way to show your admiration for my husband. This lacks respect and tact,” Vanessa said.
Fans quickly sprung to Vanessa’s defense, and called for Meek to issue her and apology, which he later said he did in private.
“I apologized to her in private earlier today not to to the public…Nothing I say on my page directed to a internet viral moment or the family of a grieving woman! If you car about someone grieving change the subject!” Meek tweeted.
Prior to tweeting his explanation, Meek let off a series of tweets that had fans confused about whether or not he had seen Vanessa’s message. While it was unclear whether or not he was addressing the situation, fans blasted Meek for the timing of his messages.
