Patriots fans are still celebrating after the team quickly turned the game around, taking home the winning title.
We all know that all teams who win the Super Bowl will get the chance to visit the White House to celebrate with the sitting president. However, one player who does not plan on attending is Martellus Bennett.
According to The Huffington Post, Bennett said during a post game interview, “I’m not going to go.”
When asked why he wouldn’t make the visit with his team, he said, “It is what it is. People know how I feel about it. Just follow me on Twitter.” Last week he tweeted, “America was built on inclusiveness not exclusiveness.”
The teams owner, Robert Kraft, the head coach Bill Belichick and star quarterback Tom Brady have been known to be friendly with Donald Trump in the past. Nonetheless, Bennett said he is, “not really worried about that.”
He also talked about not bringing politics into the locker room as well, but he was more interested in celebrating his teams Super Bowl win.
