It looks like Masika Kalysha’s attempt to help bring an end to child and human trafficking may have backfired and caused her an acting role.
According to The Blast, the former “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood,” cast member has been fired from the show “Double Cross,” which airs on UMC.
The site reports that the skit didn’t sit too well with the show’s producers and executives. They reportedly asked her to make a public apology after she posted the skit, however, she refused and stood her ground about the video being made to raise awareness for the cause.
After an extensive discussion, the show’s creator reportedly decided that she wanted to part ways with Masika and remove her from the show. The show, ironically also centers around the same topic, as two siblings team up to save women in their neighborhood from sex trafficking.
As previously reported, after Masika posted the video Tuesday night, it didn’t sit too well with people, and she immediately uploaded another video where she explained her reason for the video. She said she joined forces with the R.O.S.E Organization, who works with women and children who have been sex trafficked. However, the president of the organization said she never signed off and approved of Masika’s promotional video.
UMC released a statement where they talked about Masika posting the video while on set, and explained their decision to part ways with her. Masika then took to Twitter to express her disappointment behind the whole situation.
