The simple fact of #MaryJBlige being an icon is nothing new. However, @Billboard will be making it official later this month as the singer is set to receive the ‘Icon’ award at their annual #WomenInMusic ceremony! The only other women who have received these honors are #ArethaFranklin and #ShaniaTwain!!
“The Billboard Women in Music event was created to spotlight female trailblazers in the music industry,” Dana Miller, chief marketing officer of The Hollywood Reporter – Billboard Media Group, says. “Whether entertaining sold-out crowds or signing the next big artist, the women we celebrate are powerful leaders and pioneers, creating inspirational legacies and opening doors.”
#Khelani and former #FifthHarmony member #CamilaCabello are set to receive honors this year as well.
