“Comedian Martin Lawrence to be honored with [a] star on the Walk of Fame on April 20th! #walkoffame,” tweeted Ana Martinez, Vice President Of Media Relations for the Hollywood Chamber Of Commerce, on Tuesday (April 11). This comes after it was initially revealed that Lawrence would receive a star in June 2022, as per VIBE.
The comedian reacted to the news in a YouTube video shared after the announcement.
“We did it, bruh! We did it! All the way from Landover, Washington D.C., all the way to Hollywood. We did it. Oh, man. God bless. God bless.”
Lawrence has entertained fans in comedy, film, and television for decades since he first started in the late 1980s.
The 57-year-old was launched to success as the titular star of the sitcom ‘Martin’ before leaving for Hollywood and joining Will Smith in the long-running Bad Boys film franchise. Lawrence has also appeared in the ‘Big Momma’s House’ and ‘House Party’ films.

Variety revealed earlier this year that Lawrence — an NAACP Image Award Winner — will lend his voice to the animated film Sneaks.
The star-studded cast includes stars like Quavo, Roddy Ricch, Swae Lee, Chloe Bailey, Ella Mai, and Laurence Fishburne. Furthermore, the film is set to be finished in 2024.

Meanwhile, Lawrence and fellow actor Will Smith have recently confirmed that Bad Boys 4 is in the works. Lawrence shared an announcement clip for the franchise’s return earlier this year.
“It’s about that time,” the Oscar winner wrote in the video’s caption that showed him meeting up with his Hollywood partner in fighting crime.
