Roommates, Marlon Wayans and Tiffany Haddish were chopping it up on the Ellen Show about family, comedy and just reminiscing on the old days when they first met, and Marlon got real candid with Tiff about her acting.
While Tiffany and Marlon both agree they are great friends and have a lot of love for each other, Tiffany just had to know why she never got a part in any of his movies, and Marlon let her know!
“I have auditioned for so many of your movies, why do I never get cast?” she asked. “You even made a role called ‘Tiffany Haddish Type’. I auditioned to play myself!”
To which Marlon replied, “Me and my family always say you’re funny. You know as producers you hire people and cast people. You were always funny but you was always on 10, and sometimes you would just be inappropriate. It’s a love scene and you wanna sit on the actor’s lap and fart.”
Marlon goes on to allude to the fact that Tiffany needed time to mature, just as he did, and says he is proud of how far she’s come in her career.
“Maturation hit you. Even like for me, right now I feel like I’ve been preparing 30 years for what’s happening to me now,” he says. “It all happens to you at a certain time when maturity and that stardom hit you. It was never nothing personal. We love you, always thought you were funny. Me and my family are proud of you.”
Tiffany Haddish has been making headlines recently with her new relationship with Common, and her showing off a new part of her hair journey! We previously reported that Tiffany did the big chop for all of her fans to see, saying that she was ready for a new look and a new chapter of her life.
