Marissa Da’Nae is speaking out amid criticism against her son’s father, rapper NLE Choppa. As The Shade Room previously reported, Da’Nae revealed that the two were expecting a child together, a son named Chozen, in April.
On Tuesday, NLE Choppa took to Twitter to share a video defending fellow rapper Sexyy Red against critics. In the video, he explained that he is a “real supporter” of the rapper and feels that the public needs to be less harsh with their criticism of her and her music.
“Y’all need to stop doing people like that — treating people like that. Y’all ain’t gon’ always hear something that y’all accustomed to or used to. Y’all need people like Sexyy Redd to create a balance from serious music and s**t that you can have fun to…”
The rapper went on to explain that Sexyy Redd is a mother is doing what she needs to do to take care of her child. Then explained that he is “sticking up for her” because he’s “not seeing nobody else” defend her against the criticism.
In addition, the rapper also captioned the video.
“Y’all don’t know how comments can effect someone everyday life. Keep being you @SexyyRed314_
don’t change for nobody but yourself! You know I’m supporting !”
The rapper’s defense of Sexyy Red was met with criticism from Twitter users. Many of whom voiced their opinion about NLE Choppa being absent at Marissa Da’Nae’s recent baby shower and addressed him not defending her against social media backlash earlier this year.
Twitter user, @SheFell4Russia, wrote.
“Someone said you uplifting woman but wouldn’t lift yourself to your BM baby shower, idk if you seen it yet”
“I wish he had this energy for his pregnant bm while she was going through a mental Breakdown getting dragged by the world he ain’t come on this big say one word…”
“What I was suppose to say she was dragging me and got dragged in the process. We fixed our problems privately tho. We appreciate yo lil tweet tho booboo!”
Furthermore, the rapper then went on to add additional sentiments.
“Y’all want black men to be bad fathers sooooooo bad!! Issa epidemic out here, not the Covid one, but the one that cause you to be all in the next person business ! Meanwhile lil Tay Tay nose running, pamper shitty, and stomach empty. That’s TT baby more than yours…”
He also shared voicenotes of himself speaking to his unborn son, Chozen.
Then, the rapper ended his posts on Twitter with a few pictures of himself alongside his daughter.
“Such a bad father, Awful Parent, Narcissist… #IAMNOT”
The Twitter commentary between NLE Choppa and other users were captured and shared on The Shade Room’s Instagram page.
The post then sparked additional comments from Instagram users who appeared to agree with the Twitter users’ stances. One user, @therealkamr, commented.
“Ian gone lie speaking on uplifting & protecting women but your bm at her baby shower by herself is wild 🌚”
Im wrong for defending claims of me being a bad father when I’ll lay my life down for my kids and any kid across the world ! Call me sassy, immature, or whatever I’ll be that when it come to defending my name when it regards to parenthood. Momma ain’t raise no coward !”
At this point, Marissa Da’Nae stepped into the social media dialogue and seemed to defend NLE Choppa being absent at their baby shower and her choice to welcome a child with him.
“My child’s father is out the country for the last time. I done explained that multiple times. We are good. My child is wanted. My child is loved… And I’m not aborting no child I purposely brought here!”
Additionally, Da’Nae explaiend that she is “happy” and “at peace.”
“I’m happy. Let me be happy. And enjoy these last moments. Idc if it’s not what you expect it to be. I’m happy. We are good. Let us be.”
Shortly after, Da’Nae continued to share screenshots of her responding to criticism from social media users. In one Instagram Story post, she explained that she is “working towards a positive better relationship” with NLE and now they have “understandings.”
Additionally, she explained that she “never should have” vented her frustrations about their relationship and pregnancy on social media earlier this year.
“I should have just rolled with the punches at the time and tried to fix it later… But since day one, y’all have always had something negative to say about me. No matter how much I try to defend myself, it seems I just make it worse…”
However, Da’Nae continued by explaining that she is “moving forward.”
“Y’all can say whatever tf you want about me or my situation… y’all act like y’all so perfect y’all just not in social media light so when y’all do s**t that I’ve done it’s not noticed at all!… I know none of y’all situations are perfect. The world just don’t know about it. I pray for y’all. Be blessed tho.”
Roomies, please join us in wishing Marissa Da’Nae and NLE Choppa nothing but positivity as they push forward in their pregnancy.
