Now that Halloween is over, Mariah Carey is starting to gear up for the holiday season. It is no secret that Mimi has been crowned the Queen of Christmas and she is starting off the celebration of the season early.
On Friday, in a video posted to her Instagram, Mariah can be seen falling asleep in her Halloween costume. As soon as the clock strikes 12:00 am, November 1st, she instantly wakes up to a call from Santa Claus and says with excitement, “Santa, it’s time!”
Aside from that, she is currently celebrating the 25th anniversary of her album “Merry Christmas,” which was released back in 1994. She also released a new cut for her classic music video for “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” with unreleased video footage.
Friday also marked the re-release of the album but as a two-disc deluxe edition.
According to the New York Post, to celebrate the album’s milestone, Mariah will also be playing five holiday shows at Las Vegas’ Colosseum at Caesars Palace. She will then play a number of shows in Atlantic City, NJ, Washington, D.C., Uncasville, Conn., Boston, Mass., and New York City.
Mariah expressed how she would feel if her classic single “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” were to go #1 again this holiday season. She said, “I would be thrilled. I wanted it to feel like a classic, but I didn’t know that it was going to actually become a classic. I say that humbly because Christmas music is something that’s really special to me, so to see the song’s popularity grow over the years has been something that’s been kind of amazing. I couldn’t have expected it.”
