#Roommates, you already know that it’s not officially the holiday season until you hear Mariah Carey’s signature holiday hit, “All I Want For Christmas Is You” blasting from every department store, holiday playlist and commercial. No stranger to breaking records, Mariah’s song just recently broke a list of new ones—and cementing the song as the GOAT.
The self-titled “Queen of Christmas” Mariah Carey, has dozens of chart-topping, record-breaking hits, but now she can add even more accolades to her impressive resume—specifically her ridiculously popular holiday song, “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” According to @HollywoodReporter, Mimi’s song just broke three new Guinness World Records, as it celebrates its 25th anniversary.
Earlier this week, the Guinness World Records organization honored Mariah with the three holiday-themed world records. Those records now include: highest-charting holiday (Christmas/New Year) song on the Hot 100 by a solo artist, most streamed track on Spotify in 24 hours — with over 10.8 million streams last December — and most weeks in the UK singles Top 10 chart for a Christmas song. All three records will be included in the upcoming “Guinness World Records 2020 Edition” book.
In total Mariah style, she accepted the honors while on stage during the most recent stop of her Christmas tour at the Colosseum in Las Vegas. The 2019 “All I Want For Christmas Is You Tour” runs in Las Vegas through November 30th before heading to the East Coast for dates in Atlantic City, Washington, D.C., Boston, New York and more.
Congrats Mariah!
