Will Selby is shutting down Kevin Hunter Jr.‘s allegations about his mother’s team being opportunistic with her misfortune in health and wealth. The manager for Wendy Williams spoke to Entertainment Tonight following Kevin’s interview published on Monday (June 5) in The Sun.
Kevin Jr. claims Will and her guardian Sabrina Morrissey are looking out for each other’s pockets rather than Wendy.
“What’s been made more important by the people around her is that while her health may not be great, she needs to keep on earning income, and in my opinion, that should not be a priority at all. And whoever had been hired–they are taking advantage of someone who needs to get better,” Wendy’s only child told The Sun.
In his reactionary statement, Selby slammed the idea of taking advantage of the former talk show host and claimed Wendy asked for help.
“Taking advantage of her for what? To get what? To do what? I’m not here to brag, but I was doing just okay before Wendy came along, and I insisted on helping her because she requested my assistance,” Will Selby said.

In The Sun interview, Kevin spoke about the alleged relationship between the reported jeweler-turned-manager and guardian.
“I know that Sabrina has a relationship with the jeweler, and I would assume though, that they are cool with each other. This is how this was created. And it seems like it’s more about making sure he is okay.”
But Selby insists the team isn’t “taking advantage” of Wendy Williams. He says it’s an impossible scenario with the restrictions of her court-appointed guardianship.
“Wendy is under a guardianship. Everything that she does gets approved by the guardianship. A court-appointed guardianship. So, no one, even if they wanted to take advantage of her—everything has to get approved by that court,” Selby said. Adding, “So, any type of business dealings that we do, Wendy, myself and anyone–we have to get the guardianship to sign off on it. So how can anyone take advantage of her?”
Wendy Williams Is In ‘Wellness Facility,’ Will Selby Slams Kevin Hunter Jr. For Going To Press
For those wondering about Wendy’s health, Will Selby revealed the former host is “progressing very well” in a facility.
“Wendy is at a facility doing her best to be her best. She’s taking it say by day,” Selby said. “And that’s another thing too, does anybody even ask like ‘How’s she doing? Does anyone even care…I feel like everyone just puts out negative information about her and that’s the focus. Why don’t we stop for a moment and just day, ‘Hey, how is she? Is she doing okay today? Why is that not the focus? Why isn’t that what we’re talking about on a daily basis?”
Selby insists that Wendy agrees with focusing on her career as well. Her focus is allegedly on “the things that she wants to do in her life.”
“She’s only thinking about Wendy 2.0 and her new chapter of her life, and the things that she wants to accomplish, and that’s out focus,” Selby stated.
As for Kevin Hunter Jr.’s press-published concerns, Will and Shawn Zanotti, publicist for Wendy Williams, slammed the 22-year-old’s decision-making.
Selby said:
“If your mother was near death would the first thing you do is call an online publication? Okay. So, that’s all I have to say about that…I usually don’t do this. I’m only speaking on behalf of my client, and I’m not trying to have a debate with Kevin. You know he’s a young man, and honestly, I feel like he’s gone through a lot. I have a son that’s the same age as him, and sometimes you just made poor decisions, in my opinion, and I’m just speaking to my son.”
The manager added that he’s not trying to be “combative” with Wendy’s son but wants people to “utilize some common sense” and question why her son would call the press if Wendy Williams were on her deathbed.
Meanwhile, Shawn slammed The Sun for publishing the report without allegedly “fully vetting information.”
“This publication has released false narratives with the intent to release stories without fully vetting information, which is a disadvantage to the public, and is unprofessional and unethical. We ask that the world continues to pray for the well-being of Wendy as she continues to recover from a very traumatic two years.”
