#Roommates, how would you feel if someone threatened to call immigration on you because they perceived you were an illegal immigrant just by looking at you?! This actually happened in NYC and the video is now going viral!
A man in New York City went to dine at a Fresh Kitchen on Madison Ave when he spotted two employees speaking Spanish to each other and to Spanish-speaking customers. He felt so strongly about it that he complained to the manager, y’all! ????????♀️
“Your staff is speaking Spanish to customers when they should be speaking English,” the man whines. “Every person I listened to — he spoke it, he spoke it, she’s speaking it. This is America. Your staff should be speaking English, OK?”
The disgruntled man goes on to antagonize the employees by telling their manager that he’s getting ready to call U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to come round them up.
“My guess is they’re not documented,” he yells. “So my next call is to ICE to have each one of them kicked out of my country. If they have the b—s to come here and live off my money? I pay for their welfare, I pay for their ability to be here. The least they can do is speak English.”
The manager spoke to @NYDailyNews and explained that the man became upset while waiting for his food. “They were speaking Spanish because they are friends,” the manager said. “He got mad, waiting in line for his food. He stormed out.” Even though he was upset by the customer’s rude remarks, he knew he had to keep it cute and be as professional as possible.
“He’s a customer, so I had to stay professional and ask him to leave,” he said. “That’s what I did.”
Next time just grab a snickers and move on, bro!
