Man, 24, Arrested After Applying To Join Arkansas Police Department With An Active Warrant From Georgia

If there was a human example of “imma do me,” Justin Charles Carter might be the one! The 24-year-old is in Georgia police custody after he applied to join the police force with an active warrant on his record, per WSB-TV.

Carter flew to Arkansas to verify his identity with hiring officials at the Monticello Police Department on Monday (Aug. 15). He reportedly applied for an open patrolman position through email in South Carolina the day before.

When he arrived in Arkansas on Monday, MPD required him to take a physical test.

Police officials began suspecting Carter wasn’t being sincere after uncovering discrepancies in his background. One off-putting factor was Carter’s physical appearance not matching his background check.

However, no reports have mentioned which physical features indicated that Carter falsified his application. When police officers dug deeper, they discovered Carter’s real identity and an active, nationwide warrant from Georgia.

Immediately after Carter completed the pre-employment fitness test, Monticello officers took him into custody. He was arrested at the Monticello High School track and booked shortly before 1 p.m. local time. As of Aug. 17, reports say Carter was awaiting transport to Georgia.

According to Channel 2 Actions News, Carter faces a probation violation issued by Savannah, Georgia. It’s unclear why the 24-year-old is on probation or how his Monticello PD application can or will affect his probation.

On Friday (Aug. 18), a web search of the Drew County Sheriff’s Office jail records populated Carter’s arrest. He is described as a Black male. Charges listed include: hold for other agency and forgery in the second degree. His bond is set at $20,000.

The Shade Room has reached out to Savannah PD for additional information. There are no further updates at this time.
