America’s largest mall, Mall of America is the real MVP this holiday season for hiring their first ever Black Santa.
According to The Star-Tribune, the mall which is located in Minneapolis hired Larry Jefferson to be their Santa from Thursday to Sunday as a part of its Santa Experience.
Landon Luther, the Santa Experience co-owner said, “[We] want Santa to be for everyone, period.”
They launched a nationwide search for a diverse Santa, and that’s how they found Larry Jefferson.
Jefferson was apparently the only black Santa among 1,000 other Santa impersonators in attendance at their Santa convention in Branson, Missouri.
According to WCCO-TV, Jefferson says playing Santa is”no big deal” to him.
“I’m still Santa, I just happen to be a Santa of color.”
