Roommates, remember Malachi Love-Robinson? He had posed as a doctor and stole thousands of dollars from a patient while he was still a teenager. Well, now he is a free man after serving almost 21 months at a maximum-security lockup outside Fort Myers, FL.
According to WPTV, Malachi, who is now 22-years-old, was sentenced to 3 ½ years back in January 2018 for grand theft, practicing medicine without a license and multiple fraud charges.
Malachi was found guilty of stealing more than $20,000 from an elderly woman he was allegedly treating in 2015 during multiple visits to her home while he was still a teenager.
In February 2016, he was later charged and arrested for grand theft charges.
Prior to serving his prison sentence, Malachi’s grandfather, William McKenzie, “He was always trying to help people. He just made some wrong choices.”
His grandmother, Rebecca McKenzie added, “What he was trying to do, he was trying to do for the better good and not harm anybody. I think he’s going to be alright in the long run.”
As we previously reported, Malachi was originally arrested in early 2016 after doing a physical exam on a female undercover officer. After his arrest, he said he was “deeply saddened and a little disrespected” by the con artist allegations.
