The mother of Ludacris’ child is still fighting for custody over their 16-month-old daughter, Cai Bridges. Tamika Fuller is in the process of filing an appeal for a custody trial after the judge denied her motion for a new trial on April 9th. While she waits, she’s jumpstarted a GoFundMe page, with a goal of $7k to assist in bringing Cai home as well as fund a nonprofit organization for low income mothers.
She told MadameNoire, “Every day that passes without my daughter feels like eternity… My side has not been shared up to this point and rumors that I was a bad mother or receiving $7k/month child support or asking for $15k were distressing me; none of which are factual.”
She says she’s back to working full time, but her income isn’t enough to cover her many expense that come with the fight.
“I was hesitant to set up a GoFundMe page but since my story ran I’ve received overwhelmingly supportive feedback from women and mothers across the country who have offered assistance and want to help with launching my organization.”
She says her plans are to use the donation money to start setting up her nonprofit which she wants to name “No Mother Left Behind” with a mission to educate, enrich, enlighten, and empower low income mothers. She also intends to use a portion to assist in getting her daughter back.
“You have all made me feel less alone. We are all I this together. Thank you.”
As of now, she’s raised $665.
