Prayers Up: Roommates, a Black man was killed by Louisiana police officers on Friday night, and the disturbing incident was caught on now viral video. While the video is too graphic for us to show, it shows the man approaching a gas station convenience store and then 11 shots were fired at him.
According to TMZ, the man was at a gas station in Lafayette, Louisiana when a bystander called the police to report some sort of disturbance. According to the eyewitness who recorded the incident, almost 6 police officers arrived on the scene, and police allege the man appeared to be holding a knife.
In the video, you can hear the officers tell the man together on the ground, and as he continues to walk away from them, the officers tase him. He remains on his feet, and as he reaches for the door of the convenience store, officers open fire, and the man unfortunately passes away.
A spokesperson from the state police alleges the man was involved in an altercation in an intersection, which prompted the hefty police presence.
TMZ reports that the officers have all been placed on administrative leave with pay, pending an investigation.
