Roommates, some of the Deputies of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s department are reportedly under investigation for allegedly sharing photos of the scene where Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna Bryant tragically lost their lives.
According to TMZ, the photos included very graphic parts of the scene, including remains from the aftermath of the fatal crash. @latimes confirms that although it is not immediately clear who took the photos, they were being talked about and possibly shared just two days after the crash.
TMZ has learned that multiple deputies who responded to the crash took photos on their cell phones which included remains. One of whom allegedly took the photos to a bar and “tried to impress a girl” by showing them to her.
Sources close to the situation also allege the cell phone photos were “passed around” by members of the L.A. County Fire Dept., and the department is now investigating.
According to one report, it is believed that at least one L.A. Sheriff’s official had the pictures on his phone “in a setting that had nothing to do with the investigation.” The report does not detail how many deputies and officials saw or shared the photos.
As of now, the Sheriff’s Department is not discussing any of the allegations made in regards to the photos. Sheriff Alex Villanueva nor Cape Jorge Valdez discussed the complaints of the photos. Valdez simply said he was unaware of any complaint.
As of now, the department says “The matter is being looked into.”
