“It’s about damn time!” Lizzo was the internet’s trending topic over the weekend due to some unsavory comments that went viral about her appearance. And she used her winning moment to speak out against the hate.
The GRAMMY award-winning singer took the stage at the 2022 Video Music Awards (VMAs) to accept the ‘Video for Good’ award tonight and seemingly addressed comedian Aries Spears, who called her out in an interview.
In her speech, she said, “And now, to the b****es that got something to say about me in the press,” she yelled into the mic,
“You know what, I’m not gonna say nothing.” She paused and continued, “They be like, ‘Lizzo, why don’t you clap back?’ ‘Cause b***h I’m winning, h*e. Big b****es winning, h*e! The best revenge is your paper, b***h!”
Lizzo also took a moment to share the powerful message on social media, She added the caption:
KEEP MY NAME IN YO MOUF CUS I KNOW IT TASTE GOOD BI*CH.

Aries Spears Body Shamed Lizzo
In case you missed it Aries had very distasteful remarks about the singer during a recent ‘Art of Dialogue interview.’ The comedian said,
“I can’t get past the fact that she looks like the s**t emoji. She’s got a very pretty face, but she keeps showing her body off like, come on, man. Come on, yo.”
He continued, “I’m sorry. Listen, I ain’t the most in-shape n***a in the world, but I still, when you funny and you got swagger and confidence and you decent looking, I think I’m at least handsome, you get p***y. But a woman that’s built like a plate of mashed potatoes is in trouble.”
Shortly after Aries trended for his comments, the backlash came, and of course, he responded but failed to issue an apology.
Several people came to Lizzo’s defense, including comedian Mike Epps. Mike called out Aries for looking dirty and for a failing career.
Congrats Lizzo! Keep handling the haters with class!
