#Roommates, 2020 just started and Lizzo is already making major moves! Despite her recent announcement that Twitter trolls have caused her to take a break from the social media platform, Lizzo is now gearing up to make some music history. The line-up of the 2020 Bonnaroo festival has just been announced—and Lizzo will make history as the headlining act.
@NylonMag reports, the Tennessee-based Bonnaroo music festival, which is known for primarily booking rock bands and country artists, has finally decided to add some diversity to its line-up…and that’s where Lizzo comes in. She will be the first-ever female headliner in the festival’s 18-year history.
Lizzo’s headlining set is a notable contrast to this year’s Coachella line-up, which has been heavily criticized for not having any female artists as headliners. You may recall that the 2020 Coachella headliners are Frank Ocean, Travis Scott and rock band Rage Against The Machine.
Lizzo isn’t the only popular artist that fans can get excited to see though. Megan Thee Stallion, DaBaby, Young Thug, Kevin Gates, Nelly and Miley Cyrus are also set to perform. The Bonnaroo festival takes place the weekend of June 11th through June 14th.
Bonnaroo organizers first began to diversify its line-up last year with the addition of artists such as Childish Gambino and Solange Knowles. If you’re ready to get your tickets, you can catch Lizzo’s history-making Bonnaroo performance on Saturday, June 13th.
Roommates, what are your thoughts on this?
