Keke Palmer is reportedly in the middle of a custody battle and restraining order with her son’s paternal family. But the longtime actress has remained hush-hush on those headlines on her public platforms.
Instead, Palmer has given fans a peep at her booming career, life with Leo, and even her thoughts on love and partnership. On Jan. 22, Keke Palmer hopped on X, formerly Twitter, with her POV on the value of “individualism” in romance.
She clarified that she’s “no relationship guru,” adding a cold sweat emoticon.
However, she wrote:
“…I believe that love should honor individualism even in partnership. If I’m not good as an individual how can I be good in union? If love means compromising my passion, ambition or dreams then it’s not the love for me. Because if I lose myself, I will eventually lose you too or worse, blame you.”
As previously reported, Keke Palmer split from her son’s father, Darius Daulton Jackson, in October, citing multiple forms of abuse. In November, she filed a restraining order against Darius. A judge granted the order, barring Darius, at the time, from approaching Palmer and custody and visitations with Leo.
Since then, Darius has claimed Keke was the abusive instigator of disagreements. Since then, his brother, ‘Insecure’ actor Sarunas Jackson, has filed a restraining order against Palmer and her mother, Sharon. He cited alleged threats and harassment, requesting protection and that Keke Palmer pay his legal fees related to the filing.

As mentioned, Monday wasn’t the first time Keke Palmer has spoken about relationships since her split with Darius. In November, she highlighted “generational toxicity, trauma reenactment, and abuse in relationships” on her podcast ‘Baby, This Is Keke Palmer.’
This next episode is a therapy session in itself. On the podcast, I’m speaking with @drdrew about generational toxicity, trauma reenactment, and abuse in relationships. Listen now to #BabyThisisKekePalmer wherever you get your podcasts. pic.twitter.com/X1EojSyd4A
