Hot mamis have been poppin’ up throughout 2024. This seems to be the year of conception as countless celebrity women have revealed they are preggers. Political commentators, singers, and comedians are all walking around with an expectant bundle of joy.
ESSENCE reports that Eboni K. Wiliams is expecting the arrival of her baby in August. The ‘Holding Court’ host skirted going the traditional route and opted for a sperm donor. She underwent IVF using the eggs that she’d frozen to conceive. Williams stated that she questions her choice at times but ultimately decided that this was the best route for her. “There will always be that voice that, ‘Maybe I should have waited to meet a man and remarry before I had a baby?… But f*** that!” she said. “I’m not waiting to build my career. I’m not waiting to travel. And I’m certainly not waiting to start a family. I just refuse to wait one more day, that’s where I’m at,” she said. We know dat’s right!
The ‘Happy’ singer not only got a ring this year but a baby to boot. She conceived after reuniting with Nelly in 2023. The pair dated for a decade before breaking up in 2013. Ashanti told the outlet, “This year of my life is such a blessing full of love, hope, and anticipation.” She said she has always “looked forward to being a mother.” After months of speculation, the Grammy winner made a cute announcement online to officially let her fans know that she was expecting. Longtime fans couldn’t be more ecstatic for the celebrity couple.
Candiace has been vocal about freezing her eggs, and after debating about when she would be “ready” to be a mother, she decided that it was time. “I kind of woke up and realized that I was never going to be 100 percent ready,” she previously told Entertainment Tonight. Bassett stated that she “had to…trust the process and trust [her] doctors and stop being afraid and just do it.” She is welcoming her bundle of joy with her husband, Chris. Candaice said, “We decided together that we were going to do that…it just was kind of all moving by faith…”
