Drake, Sexyy Red, and SZA tapped into their acting skills for the highly-anticipated ‘Rich Baby Daddy’ music video.
Drizzy released his self-directed collaboration on Valentine’s Day. And it looks like Sexyy Red’s viral hospital photoshoot might’ve been a lil’ promo for the hit song’s video.
In the six-minute video, Drake and Sexyy Red cosplay a couple living in the ‘burbs. Drizzy starts the video from behind the camera, recording his family car in the driveway before greeting his white neighbor, Mike. The video quality throughout the release gives camcorder VHS in the 90s with the white timestamp.
‘Rich Baby Daddy’ then chronicles a relationship between husband (Drake) and wife (Sexyy Red) with their mutual friend (SZA) and another man. Papi goes from bragging about his wife and baby to partying in the home with the small crew. At one point, Drake cuddles and kisses Sexyy Red’s real-life pregnant belly.
As previously reported, Sexyy recently welcomed her second child after a viral Chyna Town-themed shower. She first revealed her pregnancy in October in some baby bump photos featuring SZA.
Earlier this month, she went viral after giving fans an update from the hospital that included her wig install, a light twerk, and a viral meme remake. She caught some heat as critics online took issue with the timing and setting of her vibes, calling it inappropriate.
However, now it appears the hospital shenanigans might’ve been a low-key preview at the Feb. 14 music video release. One part of the video that has fans in a chokehold is Sexyy Red telling Drake her water broke. It’s unclear if that scene and another of Red dancing in the hospital hallway with a baby in her arms are real.
However, toward the end of the video, there’s a short clip of Sexyy in the same black buss down hairstyle as her viral Feb. 5 post. So, at least that part seems to be authentic. Adding to speculation that the ending scene is real is that the baby’s face is blurred. Also, “Congratulations, Red!!! We Love You” is shown on the screen.
