As we look back on 2023, here are six celebrity couples who headed to the courthouse to file for divorce from their spouses.
Divorce Run-Down: Ralph Pittman & Drew Sidora
On March 1, PEOPLE reported that Ralph Pittman filed to divorce ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ star Drew Sidora. The pair were married for almost nine years.
In the filing, Pittman reportedly listed their date of separation as February 23. Furthermore, his filing contributed to the couple’s split to irreconcilable divorces.
Then, the following day, reports surfaced of Sidora’s amended divorce complaint. RadarOnline reported that Sidora accused Pittman of being a “serial cheater and adulterer.”
Additionally, Sidora also accused Pittman of being physically aggressive toward her, per The Shade Room.
At the time, it was also revealed that Sidora beat Pittman to the courthouse. Additionally, it was noted that Sidora filed her petition just 61 minutes ahead of Pittman.
In August, Sidora opened up about her and Pittman’s split on the season finale of ‘RHOA.’
“It has been a lot of things that have been happening over the course of the marriage, and, honestly, things were just not getting better,” she explained.
Eva Marcille & Michael Sterling
In late March, The Shade Room obtained exclusive documents revealing that Eva Marcille filed for divorce from her husband, Michael Sterling. The former couple were married for five years and share two children.
Marcille’s filing was reportedly made on March 23 in the Super Court of Fulton County in Georgia.
At the time, documents revealed that Marcille found their marriage irretrievably broken with no hope for reconciliation.
Additionally, the actor and model requested legal and primary custody of her and Sterling’s children.
A few days later, Sterling shared a statement with The Jasmine Brand. He proclaimed that he would not give up on his marriage to Marcille.
“I am not going to lose my wife. I am going to fight for her with every fiber in my being. I love her, and I plan to show her how much I love her and that our love is strong enough to get to the other side,” Sterling told the outlet, per The Shade Room.
However, on August 25, RadarOnline reported that Sterling and Marcille finalized their divorce earlier that month. Additionally, the outlet noted that the terms of the ex-couple’s agreement had been privately settled.

Kim Zolciak & Kroy Biermann
In May, TMZ reported that Kim Zolciak had filed for divorce from her husband of 11 years, Kroy Biermann. The outlet adds that Zolciak’s filing listed their date of separation as April 30.
Additionally, it was reported Zolciak noted her and Biermann’s union as irretrievably broken with no hope for reconciliation.
The pair share four children.
However, two months later, in July, it was reported that Zolciak and Biermann mutually decided to dismiss the divorce filing.
“Yes, parties are dismissing divorce action and reconciling,” Biermann’s lawyer reportedly informed Entertainment Tonight at the time.
Then, another update on the couple’s relationship took fans by surprise the following month. As The Shade Room previously reported, Biermann filed to divorce Zolciak.
Additionally, Biermann cited that his and his wife’s union was irretrievably broken.
To date, the former couple’s divorce proceedings remain ongoing. Entertainment Tonight reports that Zolciak and Biermann have been ordered to attend and complete court mediation by January 31, 2024.

Tina Knowles & Richard Lawson
Beyoncé and Solange’s mother, Tina Knowles, filed for divorce from her husband, Richard Lawson, on July 26. The former couple had been married for almost eight years.
At the time, Knowles listed the date of their split as July 25. Additionally, she cited the cause for their divorce as irreconcilable differences.
At this time, it remains unclear whether the former spouses have settled the terms of their divorce.
#3
Jeezy Jenkins & Jeannie Mai
Rapper Jeezy filed for divorce from his wife of almost two years, Jeannie Mai, on September 14. At the time, it was reported that Jeezy listed their marriage as irretrievably broken with no hope for reconciliation.
Additionally, the rapper’s divorce filing revealed that he and Mai had been living in a “bona fide state of separation.”
After Jeezy’s filing became public, Mai remained silent on the matter. Then, a month later, the television host took to social media to share a text post, seemingly revealing that she needed to “take a break” and “disconnect to heal.”
Since then, Mai has suggested that Jenkins was unfaithful during their marriage. Additionally, the television host alleged that the rapper may have to pay up due to the terms of their prenuptial agreement, per The Shade Room.
Jeezy has since denied these claims while pushing for the court to determine a temporary custody schedule for their 1-year-old daughter, Monaco.
However, Mai has recently voiced her concern for their daughter’s safety with Jeezy by citing his ownership of firearms.

Teyana Taylor & Iman Shumpert
Back in September, Teyana Taylor confirmed her separation from her partner of ten years and husband of seven years, Iman Shumpert, per The Shade Room.
However, two months later, various news outlets, including TMZ, revealed that Taylor secretly filed for divorce from Shumpert in January.
Taylor’s filing reportedly accused Shumpert of being a jealous narcissist. Additionally, it listed their marriage as “irretrievably broken.”
In December, Shumpert reportedly responded to Taylor’s claims of him being a jealous spouse with vehement denial. Instead, he alleged their split was solely due to “irretrievable broken bonds,” per The Shade Room.
At this time, the former couple’s divorce proceedings remain ongoing.
